Al Bateen Public Beach

Thank God it's Friday!  Bukno wanted to go fishing to de-stress after long, tiring week of work.  Unfortunately his usual fishing spots in Mangrove Village and ADNEC were already closed.  We still ended up relaxing in Bateen Public Beach. Pinoy Avenue ~ A Good Find in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

There’s a scarcity of good Filipino restaurants in Mussafah so when a churchmate mentioned Pinoy Avenue , we planned to try it out after attending mass. It’s easy to find especially with the help of google map. The ambience is good. Well lit and Filipino decors will make you feel you’re at home.  We love it that they’re playing on T.V. local artists from Philippines in  Wish   107.5  FM . The staff advised me that their bestseller for “SILOG (SINANGAG & ITLOG)” variant is TAPSILOG. My husband tried their version of PANSIT PALABOK.   Waiting time for the main course is up to 15 minutes. It’s good to know that the meal was cooked and prepared from the time you placed your order. While waiting, you can have unlimited free soup. Their TAPSILOG is not bad. I love their sinangag as there were crunchy bits and they added a serving of atsara. Their tapa is okay. It’s moist but some parts of the meat are not very tender.  My husband’s pans

Al Dhafra Restaurant in Mina, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

Abu Dhabi boasts an array of local and international restaurants. But whenever we crave of fresh seafood, Al Dhafra Restaurant in Al Mina Port is on top of our list. It’s close to Mina Fish Market and although it looks like a hole in the wall restaurant, the variety of fresh seafood will not leave you unsatisfied.  We were invited by my sister-in-law to celebrate her birthday in Al Dhafra Restaurant.  The restaurant offers buffet and a la carte menu.     The Restaurant's Interior with Arabic Chandelier Fresh Seafoods Variety of Sauces and Dips While waiting for your meal, they will serve you dates and warm kuboosh (pita bread).  Grilled local fish, skewered cuttlefish and baked mussels. To cap it all off, the tea guy will tirelessly serve you with unlimited hot tea infused with cardamom, saffron and fresh mint. In addition to the superb food and cozy ambience of the place, it’s the warm welcome of the s

Abu Dhabi Observation Deck at 300

Image
We were invited for dinner by our visitors from Philippines. They were staying in Jumeirah at Etihad Towers and we're lucky because we're able to have an access to Abu Dhabi Observation Deck at 300.  For more than a decade in U.A.E., it was our first time in the observation deck.  It's on 74th floor of Tower 2 that's why on your way up the lift you can feel slight ear pressure but the view is all worth it.  The timings on the website says it's from 1000H - 1800H daily but we're allowed to stay till 1900H. We went up at 1815H and it's the perfect time as the sun is setting and we can start to see the city lights.  If you're not a guest of the hotel, you can pay AED 85 but AED 50 is consumable for drinks or sandwiches. Tip: You should keep your camera pointed near the glass to avoid reflections.   U.A.E. Presidential Palace Marina Mall Emirates Palace Before Sunset Emirates Palace at Night
